“The level of talent of the nominees speaks for itself. They motivate and have a daily influence on the lives of millions of people. I am incredibly proud of every nominee. South Africa, continue to support your favourite,” said Zareef.

The nominees include Mihlali Ndamase, Inno Matijane, Ndoyisile Sibindi, DJ Sbu, MacG, William Last KRM, Vusi Thembekwayo, Anele Mdoda, Moghelinz, Ghost Hlubi and many more.

“I will always emphasise the importance of giving more creatives the recognition and platform to inspire and grow because they keep us informed funnily and desirably. I want to see more of our creatives and content creators generating sustainable income in the future since the influencer and social media industries in Africa are worth billions of dollars. Our young are incredibly brilliant, but we need to teach them the business side of social media so they can use their skills to improve their communities and find work,” he said.

Zareef was named the SABC 1 One Day Leader and is a One Young World ambassador for South Africa, representing the nation as a young, accomplished businessperson abroad.

Along with Patrice Motsepe and Phuti Mahanyele, Minty was named one of the top 30 businesspeople to watch in Entrepreneur Magazine and is a potential candidate for the Forbes Africa 30 under-30 list.

The awards will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre on October 29. The theme for the awards is Halloween.

Fans are encouraged to vote for their favourite influencers, personalities and brands.
