Young beauties lead impactful lives
Local beauty contestants and siblings Ariana and Ziané van Staden have made great strides over the past six months in different fields.
When it comes to pageants, it is all about sister power for the young Van Staden sisters.
Following her sister, reigning Miss Alberton Junior Ziané van Staden, the Randhart Rakkers learner Ariana van Staden was chosen as second runner-up for the National Face of the Year for Figures Model Finesse International Alberton.
In December 2022, Ziané received the crown as the national winner of Couture Junior for Figures Models International. She won a cash prize of R10 000.
Ziané previously won the National Face of the Year and competed on the MSC Orchestra, where over 20 international agents and scouts searched for models and other talents.
Onboard the MSC, Ziané performed so well that she received four callbacks from international agents. She received second place for the jeans category and overall second place for the ‘strike a pose’ category.
According to her mother, Shereen van Staden, Ziané was chosen for the Meyersdal Action Sports Super League U11 when she turned nine in June.
“Ziané and Ariana both competed in Laerskool Randhart’s Mr and Miss Rantie. Ariana secured the first princess for Miss Rantie Petite, while Ziané was the first princess for Miss Rantie Junior,” she explained.
They both competed in these dance competitions Talent Africa, Con Spirito, Legends of the Arts SA, South African Championships of the Performing Arts (SACOPA) and Dance Elite. They then qualified for national rounds in all the competitions with mostly more than 90% as overall scores.
“Both play for their school’s netball teams – Ariana in Grade R and Ziané in Grade Three and on numerous occasions, received the ‘girl of the match’ awards.
Ziané was part of her school choir, KiewietKoor, where they received more than 90%. While Ariana was crowned Miss Movie Queen Winner, Ziané secured the second princess in different categories.
“They were both crowned winners of the photogenic section for Mr and Miss Winter Frost 2023 and selected as finalists for Mini Miss RSA, taking place at the end of September,” she said.
