Milestone bubbles up as school celebrates 27 years

Celebrating 27 years of love and learning at Tiny Bubbles Nursery School.

July 1, 1996, was a milestone for Tiny Bubbles Nursery School. They opened their doors to six children and embarked on a journey lasting over two decades.

Today, this institution stands as a testament to the dedication and passion of its principal and founder, Carene Koekemoer, who, with her husband Boet, nurtured the school from its humble beginnings in their home to the thriving establishment it is today.

Reflecting on those early days, Carene fondly remembered the excitement that filled the air when the Alberton Town Council approved their plans to convert their home into a nursery school. The Koekemoer family worked tirelessly to transform their residence into a safe, welcoming space for young learners.

The school’s name remained a closely guarded secret until the grand opening when they revealed a name board accompanied by the playful tune of Tiny Bubbles.

Since its inception, Tiny Bubbles has become an integral part of the community, providing a nurturing, loving environment for many of its children. The school’s motto, Love and personal attention is our priority, exemplifies the commitment to personalised attention and care. This ethos stems from Carene’s belief that love is at the core of every human endeavour.

Over the years, Tiny Bubbles grew in size and reputation. With dedicated staff, including several who devoted more than a decade to the school, it is clear the bonds formed in this close-knit community run deep.
The staff’s longevity and loyalty are a testament to the positive working environment and shared values at Tiny Bubbles.

Carene expressed her gratitude for the privilege of shaping young lives during their formative years.

With a sparkle in her eyes, she reminisced about the themes that enlivened the annual celebrations at Tiny Bubbles, ranging from beloved characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, Shrek and Fiona to colourful clowns and the spotted pups of 101 Dalmatians.

Over the years, Tiny Bubbles cultivated strong relationships with children and parents. Many children who once attended the school are now parents themselves, entrusting their little ones to the care of the familiar faces at Tiny Bubbles.

This cycle of trust and love is a source of joy for Carene because it affirms her school’s impact on generations in the community.

In addition to fostering love and giving personal attention, Tiny Bubbles’ Christian foundation instils strong values in its young charges. Her belief in the power of love aligns with the school’s ethos, creating an environment where children can grow academically, emotionally and spiritually.

As Tiny Bubbles celebrates 27 years of nurturing young hearts and minds, they remain committed to providing a loving and caring haven for the community’s children. The staff and students eagerly anticipate the years ahead as Tiny Bubbles continues to touch the next generation and impart a love for learning and a foundation of strong values that will guide them in their lives.
