Elriza Riddle, the new principal of Junior Colleges Castillian, is enthusiastic about her latest journey and eager to implement her plans for the school’s future.

Elriza Riddle, the new principal of Junior Colleges Castillian, is enthusiastic about her latest journey and eager to implement her plans for the school’s future.

Having taken over from her predecessor on March 27, Elriza quickly and positively impacted the staff and learners.

Previously a principal in the Curro group, and with a track record of success, she is poised to make a significant impact in her new role at the Advtech school.

Becoming a principal was always one of her dreams, and she is committed to creating a nurturing environment that feels like a home away from home for the learners.

Her new adventure

“The staff, parents, and children have warmly welcomed me and provided immense support and assistance these past few months,” she said with gratitude.

Maintaining high standards and continuously enhancing the school is important to me. I am excited about the future and the many accomplishments I hope to achieve.”

Elriza envisions taking Junior Colleges Castillian to new heights and positioning it as one of the premier schools in the province.

When asked about the positive changes she plans to implement, Elriza emphasised the importance of building on previous achievements and gradually introducing change. Her goal is to make Junior Colleges Castillian the preferred educational institution in the community.

“I believe that by harnessing the staff’s strengths and working as a team, we can create an ideal learning environment,” she shared.

Elriza is privileged to make a difference in the community and recognises how significant her role is in shaping the lives of children.

Her dedication and passion are evident not only through conversations but also in her actions. With a Bachelor of Education: Foundation Phase Teaching degree from the University of Potchefstroom, she furthered her studies by pursuing an Honours degree and a Master’s in education management.

She is working toward her doctorate in education management.

This and that

Originally from Ladybrand in the Free State, Elriza completed her schooling there.

Fond childhood memories included playing with rollerblades, catching insects, and spending time with friends at her nursery school.

In 2021, she married her best friend, Craig Riddle, and they have two chocolate Yorkies. Elriza enjoys arts and crafts, reading, and exploring new places through travel in her free time.

Describing herself as energetic, positive, and goal-driven, she admits to having a sweet tooth and cherishing all things sweet. She also finds joy in exercising, particularly alongside Craig. Her greatest inspiration in life is God, whom she believes is a constant presence, a waymaker, and a source of unconditional love.

Living by the motto, ”If serving is beneath you, leadership is beyond you”, Elriza is committed to serving her school community with dedication and integrity. With her passion, experience, and vision, the future of Junior Colleges Castillian looks promising under her leadership.
