Amcare keeps Silwerkroon seniors warm

With winter at our doorsteps, seniors were pleased to receive a visit from Amcare who showered them with blankets and warm meals.

Raceview’s Silwerkroon seniors were treated to tasty meals and fruit before being handed blankets on May 19.

As part of their Elderly Care Programme and community outreach programme, Amcare reached out to seniors.

They donated 28 blankets, which were presented to them by Leaping Ahead Playschool.

“We donated fruit which we received from Fruitalyst through Kolisi Foundation. We drove around the Alberton community and handed out these donations to those in need,” explained Nokuthula Mtshali of Amcare.

Pensioner Diane Sharp from Silwerkroon thanked Amcare for their generosity and for extending a helping hand to the residents.

“Today’s visit from Amcare was overwhelming. We are so blessed with Amcare. They always come through for us. I wish I could donate towards the wonderful work that they do,” she said.

Amcare further presented residents of Alberton Train Station informal settlement and the vulnerable with donations.

Donations to Amcare are always welcome and can be made through the website or in person.
