Alberton North’s industrial, some residential parts without power for three days and counting

No estimated turn around time has been provided at the moment.

Alberton North residents and businesses are at their wits’ end after being in the dark since the evening of May 21 and counting, due to a power outage.

The power outage which has caused much distress and financial loss to businesses and locals is reportedly due to a cable fault.

The Alberton Record has since escalated this issue to the City of Ekurhuleni for their immediate intervention and response.

Ward 37 Clr Ivan Naidoo stated: “I’m trying my best to have power restored, hence I’m sitting on the energy depot for answers.

There are two cables. On the one, there were two faults, they have now found the third fault, which they are now digging approximately six or seven hours. Also, once this is repaired, there is also an open circuit which is causing the low voltage that was experienced yesterday.”

He said no estimated turnaround time has been provided at the moment.
