Addict’s Voice secures a venue to help victims of substance abuse

The founders of Addict’s Voice were happy after being granted a place to call home where they could adequately offer their services to the Alberton community.

Two local non-profit organisations’ worlds changed for the better when they were officially granted a venue for their services to the Alberton community.

Fearless Life Ministries and Addict’s Voice work together to help the community declare war on the drug-infested streets.

Fearless Life Ministries was established in 2019 and Addicts Voice in 2020, with both of their missions being to provide a range of possibilities for programme participants, themselves, or a loved one, to help them to create a life free from drugs.

According to the founder of Addict’s Voice, Evette Kruger, the only sustainable thing they have to give is Jesus.

“Our hearts’ desire is to save lives and bring healing where all else is shattered to break the chains of addiction. We walk the streets with purpose, power and passion, taking a stand against drugs, street prostitution and our girls being sold within the ring we find ourselves in,” said Kruger.

The organisation will now offer services at Ligstad, 32 Van Riebeeck Avenue, Alberton North.

“This changes a lot for us. We can now start our street rehabilitation programme, and the venue places us in the middle of the hustle to free our streets from addicts,” said the co-founder of Addict’s Voice, Corne van Tonder.

The venue enables the organisations to run street rehabilitation programmes, addiction recovery support group meetings and relapse support programmes.

It will also assist the community by hosting skills development courses, workshops for mental wellness and counselling for their targeted audience.

Services will be offered on Mondays and Tuesdays from 09:00 to 11:00 and Thursdays from 09:00 to 15:00.

“We are all recovering from something which broke us. You are not alone. You don’t have to go through this on your own,” Kruger concluded.

The organisations will welcome volunteers who want to join a movement changing lives for the better.
