Help local pastor keep addicts and homeless warm this winter

New Redruth’s Pastor Ian Naidoo needs your help in keeping those dealing with the reality of life on the streets warm this winter.

Recovering addict Pastor Ian Naidoo of The Upper Room Street Ministry is on a quest to win hearts and restore addicts’ lives by showering them with love.

This winter, with the help of the community, he intends to keep addicts and the homeless warm.

“For anyone dealing with the troubling reality of life on the streets, a blanket is a last attempt to accommodate the addict and homeless during winter nights. When we don’t have a blanket to give out, it’s a heartbreaking moment. It’s a last option,” he explained.

According to Naidoo, addiction and homelessness are today’s modern-day leprosy, which is why they founded The Upper Room Street Ministry.

“Romans 12:13 tells us that when God’s people are in need, we must be ready to help them and always eager to practice hospitality. We are calling on the community of Alberton to be the hands and feet of Jesus this winter. Help us by donating blankets or sowing a small seed of R150 to purchase blankets for the homeless and addicts this year,” he said.

The drop-off zone is at Unit 2 Villa Quinshae, 12 Launceston Street, New Redruth.
