Figures Models Glenvista excel at competition

International student model of the year a great success for Figures Models Glenvista.

Figures Models Glenvista ended last year on a high note at the International Student Model Of The Year event, walking away with the most winners and the Fashion Team title.

Although this competition is not just about winning, it is good to know that the hard work during the year paid off when the branches around the country came together to showcase their students.

Branches from SA and Namibia were at the Roodepoort Theatre between December 2 and 4 to compete against each other in their respective age categories and age groups.

There are three categories per age group: fashion, commercial and skills.

The winners from each category won a trip on the Project Aim cruise. It takes place every March. There they will showcase their talents in front of international agents and industry professionals invited to join Figures Models Finesse International on the cruise. This is all in the hope of landing an international modelling contract.

The cruise was a success for many talented hopefuls who attended the Project Aim cruise. This year, Figures Glenvista will take 18 models on the cruise. They will strut their stuff in front of 20 agents and, hopefully, put pen to paper on a modelling contract after negotiations through Figures’ head office.

Kirsten Bowers, Cassidy Abrahams, Mulan Bezuidenhout, Faithlynn Arendse and the Glenvista Fashion Team were the overall winners for their categories.

The first-place winners were Zimi Ndlela, Hannah Okoh and Kiara Arends.

Brooklyn-Storm Thompson, Nosipo Khahlane, Aphelele Manyewa, Kelce Hoosen and Michané Jordaan placed second in their categories.

Figures Glenvista walked away with the most winners. Owner Natacha Thompson said that the big winners were self-confidence and self-esteem.

She loves to see her students perform every year after all the training and hard work they put in.

Figures Glenvista is one of 20 branches partaking in this event every year.
