Musician Nasrene, a pop singer from the South of Johannesburg, released a brand new single titled Colada, which was released by The David Gresham Record Company.
Nasrene moved to one of the most influential places in pop music today, Sweden. She will be based in Gothenburg for the next two years, where she will be completing her studies and writing music.
“Luckily for us, Sweden has a superior reputation for pop music! They have some of the best writers and producers in the world and are responsible for many of today’s hits,” said Nasrene.
Nasrene is using her time there to learn, collaborate, write and release as much music as she can. Her music can be described as emotion-driven chill pop and she is inspired by artists such as SHY Martin, Tate McRae and Halsey.
Nasrene said, “Colada is inspired by my love for travel and wander. I wrote it with David Westmeijer during lockdown when all I wanted was a break and some positive excitement. The song is about escaping and feeling like you’re far away from busy reality, dancing on a beach during a golden sunset.”
Her favourite thing to do when she isn’t going to classes or writing music is to go for a walk in nature.
