The newly elected Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Community Development and the regional chairperson in the City of Joburg for African Transformation Movement, Lubabalo Magwentshu, is ready to hit the ground running.
The Eastern Cape-born MMC said the portfolio that he will be taking on requires one to be always on the ground engaging with the residents.
“Those on the ground are the ones who are facing challenges and they might have solutions in solving issues of service delivery. This position excites me because I will be able to deliver services to ordinary residents,” said Magwentshu.
The MMC explained that for now to get the ball rolling is to get the mayoral priorities in order.
“The portfolio doesn’t only speak about sports, recreation and arts, but about empowering young people and creating opportunities.”
