2 suspected kidnappers shot dead on R59
Authorities reported that two suspected kidnappers are linked to multiple cases under investigation.
Two suspects were shot dead following a high-speed chase on the R59 in Alberton on September 6.
It is believed that the suspects’ vehicle lost control and overturned, leading to a shootout between the police and the suspects.
Tyrone van der Merwe, Sales Director of CPS Security, stated that the two suspected kidnappers were linked to a string of cases.
“Police helicopters have arrived on the R59 between Kliprivier Road and Swartkoppies Road,” he said.
The roads have been closed to traffic, and motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
