WATCH: New facts to emerge in Alberton mother and son murder case

New facts could come to light in the Alberton mother and son murder case because the accused are soon expected reappear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court saw the reappearance of Freddie Stapelberg (34), the prime suspect in the brutal murders of his girlfriend, Nadine Terblanche, and her nine-year-old son, Ruandré, alongside his co-accused, Pardon Danhire (37), on August 21.

The court previously postponed their matter amid Stapelberg’s intention to bring forth new facts in his bail application. Danhire had instructed his legal representative to abandon his bail.

During a previous court appearance, the court denied Stapelberg’s bail due to concerns regarding his psychological state. He was considered potentially dangerous to himself and others.

This comes after Terblanche and her son’s brutal murder at her Randhart home on November 27, 2023.

Their matter was previously set down to be heard for at least three hours for bail application on new facts.

However, their matter saw another postponement for August 26 for new facts to be heard and arguments by both parties. The postponement was due to outstanding information in the matter.

Until their next appearance, Stapelberg and Danhire, who face two counts of murder, will remain in custody.
