2 arrested after high-speed chase in Alberton

The suspects were arrested after realising they were cornered, abandoning the vehicles and attempting to flee on foot.

In an intense turn of events on the N12 highway near Voortrekker Road in Alberton, a high-speed chase led to the arrest of two suspects on July 26.

Donovan du Toit, Operations Manager from Fox Security, provided details of the dramatic incident: The situation began when a vigilant member of CAP observed a vehicle hijacking another vehicle just before Voortrekker Road.

“The CAP member called for backup and initiated a pursuit. Responding promptly, Fox Security’s Tactical Units, along with CAP, JHB SAPS K9, EMPD, SOG, CPS Security, GTP Chopper, and Graphite, joined forces in the chase,” he said.

Du Toit said the suspects abandoned the vehicles and attempted to flee on foot: “Two suspects were arrested and two got away.”

The search for the remaining suspects continues, and the community is urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
