Security officers continue to uphold the law within the community

Locals are urged to report crime in order to create a much safer community for inhabitants.

Over the past two weeks, CPS Security has made a number of notable arrests in the Alberton region and surrounding areas.

Their proactive efforts in apprehending wanted suspects have resulted in a safer neighbourhood.

Suspect arrested in South Crest for burglary

CPS Security received a call from a resident after he noticed an unknown male breaking into a vacant property.

Sales director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, reported that the suspect was discovered inside the property, equipped with a tool for breaking into houses.

Alberton SAPS was contacted and the suspect was handed over.

Van der Merwe thanked all individuals that were involved in the arrest and thanked the resident for being vigilant and for calling them.

Suspect arrested in Elandshaven for house break-in

A resident informed CPS Security that a male individual who was not identified had obtained entry into an unoccupied building.

The suspect arrested for a burglary that was averted in Elandshaven.

When CPS Security reaction teams arrived on the scene, they discovered the man there.

The suspect claimed that the owner of the residence had given him instructions to take care of the property, therefore he had shattered a window to gain entry.

The estate agent was contacted, whom contacted the owner and received instructions to open a case against the suspect.

Scammers arrested in New Redruth

A resident called CPS Security to report that their bank cards and phone had been stolen at a nearby shopping centre.

These two men were arrested after a resident’s bank cards were stolen.

The resident reported that significant withdrawals of R36 000 were being made from accounts at another shopping complex when they contacted CPS Security for assistance.

The resident managed to track the stolen phone to the local shopping mall.

CPS Security Tactical Units assisted in locating the device, and upon positive identification, two suspects attempted to flee right after making their final withdrawal.

The stolen phone, bank cards, and money were discovered in the possession of the two apprehended suspects.
The JMPD TRU assisted in getting the individuals to the Alberton Police Station.

Offenders arrested in a joint operation

In order to investigate allegations of unauthorised firearms being concealed in a hijacked building in the Germiston CBD, the CPS Security team was asked to collaborate with the Germiston SAPS.

Along with SAPS, EMPD, Gauteng Traffic Police, and security firms, the premises were raided and searched.
Several arrests were made and the suspects were transported to Germiston SAPS.

Cable thief arrested in Liefde en Vrede

One of the CPS Security reaction units saw a suspicious Toyota Quantum while on patrol.

Backup was summoned after it was observed that the occupants were piling electrical cords into the quantum.
Shortly after the arrival of more CPS Security units, 10 to 12 suspects ran away on foot into a veld area.

Reaction officers from CPS Security pursued and captured one of the suspects.

The getaway car, cutting tools, and stolen cables were retrieved.

CPS Security believes these are the same syndicates that have been terrorising the Glenvista, Mulbarton and Liefde en Vrede community with regards to cable theft and power outages.

Mondeor SAPS was contacted and the scene was handed over to them.

Suspects apprehended in Verwoerdpark

A client called CPS Security to report that two unidentified individuals were breaking into their property.

After receiving the call, CPS Security reaction units were sent to the scene right away.

The two suspects attempted to escape on foot, but CPS Security personnel quickly caught them.

Stolen solar lights, spotlights and house breaking equipment was recovered.

Alberton SAPS was contacted and a case was opened.
