Alberton SAPS seize illegal firearm

Suspect nabbed for illegal firearm possession.

On December 9, Crime Prevention Wardens from Alberton SAPS patrolling the Alberton policing area observed a suspicious-looking young male.

Responding promptly, they approached the suspect, securing his consent for a search. Subsequently, the 26-year-old suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

“The suspect was initially held in Alberton SAPS holding cells but was later transferred to Primrose SAPS. He has since appeared in the local court for a bail hearing,” said Captain Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for Alberton SAPS.
