Murder suspect arrested after hiding in South Hills region

An elderly woman's decomposed body was found a few weeks ago on Radio Road in Alberton North and on November 24, a man who allegedly killed her was arrested.

According to a source, she lived in Oribi Street in Verwoerdpark.

CPS Security worked with Alberton and Germiston SAPS and caught the suspect hiding in the South Hills region.

“The suspect is linked to kidnapping, theft and murder in the Alberton area,” said sales manager of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe.

Two firearms connected to the crimes were also seized during the operation.

Following the arrest, the suspect was taken to the Alberton Police Station for formal charges. The matter is being investigated.
