Armed robbers arrested in Brackendowns after high-speed chase

Two suspects sustained gunshot wounds during the chase.

A high-speed chase between Fox Security and suspected armed robbers in Brackendowns resulted in the arrest of three suspects.

Information was received regarding four armed suspects that were reported to have been robbing a local business in the New Market area.

According to the director of Fox Security, Francois Jansen, Fox tactical units responded to the business when a description of the suspect’s vehicle was given to them.

“One of our Fox Tactical members spotted the vehicle travelling on Swartkoppies Road direction R59 and he proceeded after the vehicle. Backup was requested and more Fox tactical members were waiting on the bridge by the R59 to intercept the vehicle,” he said.

Jansen reiterated that a chase ensued where multiple gunshots were fired and their tactical members managed to stop the vehicle and apprehended two suspects. He said the third suspect was apprehended with the help of CPS Security.

All stolen goods were recovered on the scene.

Brackendowns SAPS were contacted and the suspects were taken into custody.
