Karin Blignaut to know her fate

Lengthy closing arguments were wrapped up during CEO of Tame Communications [Tame Times] Karin Blignaut’s matter on June 12 at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

Karin Blignaut reappeared before the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on June 12.

Her matter saw another postponement, though she may soon know her fate. She stands accused of defeating or obstructing the administration of justice and submitting a false statement in an affidavit.

During her appearance, the CEO of Tame Communications (Tame Times), took to the witness stand to present her testimony before court. She was also cross-examined as she presented her version of events.

In a separate matter heard before the South Gauteng High Court where an interdict application was brought against the complainant in this matter Rynette Farrar, supporting documents along with this ‘supplementary affidavit’ was used.

Farrar alleged that Blignaut made a ‘false affidavit’ against her in December 2013.

However, the accused has pleaded not guilty to the two counts that she is charged with, reiterating that she had no intent to make a ‘false affidavit’.

On a previous occasion, Blignaut’s defence applied for Section 174 application and the state opposed it.
Her matter has been postponed to August 28 for judgement. She remains out on warning.
