Pair nabbed for possession and possible dealing in illegal substances

In Eden Park and Alberton, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers affected an arrest of two suspects following charges of possession and possible dealing in illegal substances on May 23.

Officers received information about individuals selling drugs in the community and proceeded to a residence on Alder Street in the Eden Park area, where a 46-year-old male suspect was found in possession of ten ziplock bags of CAT, four ziplock bags of crystal meth, with an estimated value of R1400 and seventy Rands R70 in cash.

As The officers continued, a 41-year-old male suspect was found with two ziplock bags of crystal meth, with an estimated value of R100, on Padstow Street in Alberton.

“The lawbreakers were individually marched to Eden Park and Alberton police stations. Facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illegal substances, the suspects are expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon,” explained EMPD’s Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.
