Hiccups with pre-trial date for Sheldon Terry’s fraud case

The Meyersdal suspect will appear in court on April 19.

There was a setback with the pre-trial date for Sheldon Terry’s fraud case on April 6 at the Booysens Magistrate’s Court.

It was supposed to be the day the court would set the pre-trail date. However, the State had not prepared the pre-trial document, and the charge sheet was not in order.

When the magistrate asked the prosecutor about the pre-trial document, she said she wasn’t aware of it.

“The charge sheet is not okay. It must be corrected because this is shabby work,” noted the magistrate.

The case temporarily stood down while they fixed the charge sheet. The magistrate also mentioned there was no need to rush things to get nowhere. As a result, the case was postponed to April 19 for the pre-trial date.

Terry first appeared in court on December 21, 2021, and is out on R5 000 bail.

His bail conditions remain, and he must still observe them.
