Junior Colleges Castillian took a unique and eco-friendly approach to celebrate the global initiative of World Recycling Day.

Learners, accompanied by their parents, showcased their creativity by crafting outfits entirely from recyclable materials. The event promoted environmental awareness and fostered a sense of community spirit in the school.

With sustainability at the forefront, learners and their families repurposed items that would typically find their way into landfills.

From newspapers and cardboard to plastic bottles and old fabrics, all these materials became a canvas for their imaginative designs.

The school’s corridors buzzed with excitement when the learners paraded in their handmade ensembles, each a testament to their commitment to sustainability.

Brightly-coloured costumes made from discarded materials transformed the usual school atmosphere into a vibrant display of creativity and environmental consciousness.

Parents played an integral role in supporting their children’s endeavours, guiding them through the process of transforming everyday items into wearable art. The event encouraged resourcefulness and prompted discussions on the importance of recycling and reducing waste.

“It is inspiring to see our learners and their families come together to celebrate World Recycling Day in such a creative way,” remarked principal Elriza Riddle.

“This event not only highlights the importance of environmental stewardship but also reinforces the values of innovation and community engagement.”

In commemorating World Recycling Day with enthusiasm and creativity, Junior Colleges Castillian reaffirmed its dedication to fostering environmentally conscious citizens and making a positive difference.
