Suspect apprehended for theft from property

One arrested in General Alberts Park.

In a swift response to a reported theft from a property on Wilger Street, General Alberts Park, CPS Security apprehended a burglar.

After receiving information that the suspect had gained access to a resident’s property and had stolen items, including a gas bottle and ladder, community members spotted the man heading towards the Alrode area.

“Our reaction units were immediately dispatched, locating and apprehending the suspect in Garfield Road,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, CPS sales director.

The officers recovered the stolen items and took the suspect back to the affected property.

They contacted the Alberton SAPS and handed over the suspect to them for further legal proceedings.
