Forest Hill murder case postponed because defense unavailable

No heads of arguments from the defence.

Murder accused Kleave van Staden briefly appeared before Magistrate Habib at Booysens Magistrate’s Court on November 22.

The case was postponed to December 7 for the heads of arguments and for his defence to be available. This is after his defence attorney Munyai was not present on the day.

According to the State prosecutor, Bikwa, Munyai sent him a message detailing that she would not be available because she has the flu. When asked by Habib about the heads of arguments, Bikwa said, “I have mine. However, she didn’t send hers.”

On the last sitting, October 24 they agreed that they would email each other the heads of arguments by November 13.

Van Staden is accused of murdering his wife Jamillah on January 8 last year in Forest Hill.
