Waterstone College recently recognised the exceptional achievements of its dedicated learnes at its annual high school culture, service, and sports awards ceremony.
Magriet Payne, marketing manager of the school, said the event was filled with excitement, pride, and a sense of unity as awards, half colours, and full colours were distributed to deserving individuals.
“Heartiest congratulations are in order for all the learners who received special awards, half colours, and full colours awards. These awards reflect the students’ unwavering commitment and dedication to their respective fields, whether in academics, sports, culture, or service.
“The evening’s most distinguished moment came with the bestowal of the coveted Carpe Diem blazers upon two remarkable individuals, Holly Duddy and Tim Cable. The significance of this accolade cannot be overstated, as the Carpe Diem blazer has been granted on only 10 occasions in the entire history of Waterstone College.
“This marks a truly exceptional milestone for the school, emphasizing its dedication to acknowledging and celebrating excellence in various domains.
“To earn the prestigious Carpe Diem blazer, learners must achieve full colours in three of the four major fields: academics, sports, culture, and service.
“Holly Duddy and Tim Cable’s achievement of the Carpe Diem blazers reflect their exceptional abilities and their dedication to their chosen paths. Their hard work, perseverance, and passion for their respective pursuits have made them outstanding role models for their peers and an inspiration to the entire Waterstone College community.
“The Waterstone College community takes immense pride in the achievements of all its learners and encourages them to continue their pursuit of excellence,” said Payne.
