The EMPD Alberton Precinct officers responded to a reported crash in Brackenhurst where a motorcyclist was involved.
Upon arrival, officers found a smashed Hyundai sedan and the destroyed Bigboy motorcycle. The 27-year-old male biker died on the scene.
“The 44-year-old female driver of the sedan was taken to the Thelle Mogoerane Hospital for medical treatment due to slight injuries she sustained. It is not clear at this stage what occurred before the crash, but it seems as if one of the drivers disobeyed a red traffic light,” said EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.
She said a case of culpable homicide was registered at Brackendowns Police Station for further investigations.
