St Martin’s set to host Youth Day Festival for football and netball lovers

A thrilling opportunity for the youth who love football and netball.

The inaugural St Martin’s Youth Day Sports Festival taking place on June 15 and 16 will be an exciting opportunity for the youth to showcase their skills on the football fields and netball courts.

The event, taking place on the newly combined campus, hopes to become a sought-after festival where players will hone their skills and develop themselves as individuals and team players.

Head of department of sport at St Martin’s, Tamrin Bartlett, believes that sport plays a vital role in developing a holistic child and is important for the creation of the habit of being fit and healthy. It is also important to learn to be a part of a team.

The festival is brought to the community by Standard Bank and will be shown on SuperSport Schools on DSTV and the SuperSport Schools App.

To add to the sport and excitement, professional soccer players will be in attendance to be a part of the fun soccer and netball activities. There are planned engagements and activities that include parents and spectators at the festival.

The event hopes to attract the local schools and surrounding communities to enjoy a fun day while celebrating the youth of South Africa on Youth Day. Food and drinks will be on sale and spectators visiting the school’s website can enter to win spot prizes on June 16.
