Ladies’ hygiene products donated at Glenvista Primary School

Community members dropped off donations at Mulbarton Pharmacy. A Grade 12 learner, who also runs a sanitary pad drive, chipped in with three large bags of products.

Ladies’ hygiene products were donated to Glenvista Primary School on May 12 in response to the school’s request for assistance in the urgent need for these products for girls.

Lynette Meyer, the health and social development portfolio committee member, sent a WhatsApp message to residents of Ward 23. Community members dropped off donations at Mulbarton Pharmacy.

A Grade 12 learner who runs a sanitary pad drive chipped in with three large bags of products. The school staff also contributed by purchasing the product from their own pockets.

Lorraine Naane

The school welcomed the donations with so much joy that it was contagious. Meyer said she would continue the feminine hygiene drive and distribute the products where needed every month.

Meyer thanked the Grade 12 learners, councillors Michael Sing and Rashida Landis and the health promotion practitioner of the Glenanda Clinic, Mandisa Nokwali.
