Brothers in Christ calls on men to attend impactful initiative

Brothers in Christ does not formally align with a specific Christian denomination, all men are welcome.

Having been a fellow ‘brother’ at Brothers in Christ in Bedfordview for over two decades, it has been laid on Eric McKechnie’s heart to bring the same initiative to Alberton.

Through Brothers in Christ, he was and is still supported in prayer.

According to McKechnie, Brothers in Christ does not formally align with a specific Christian denomination.

“It is a time and place where men can talk and share among men. You learn to understand how the love, mercy and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ can turn situations around that sometimes seem highly unlikely, even impossible to us mortal sinners,” he explained.

“In John 17:20-21, Jesus prays to the Father saying, ‘for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me’.

McKechnie said they have secured a venue at Renaissance Retirement Village for every Wednesday morning starting at 06:30.

“The programme consists of coffee on arrival, opening prayer, praise and worship, short video, and a devotion led by one of the clergy as scheduled. It’ll be followed by breakfast, individual sharing, and closing prayer, with a view to finish no later than 08:30. Anyone needing to leave early will be given the opportunity to share first, and are then blessed to leave,” he said.

The first-ever Brothers in Christ in Alberton will be held on October 19 starting promptly at 06:30.

For any information or to RSVP email McKechnie of LOTS# Alberton via email on eric@lotsalberton.co.za

“Belinda prepares amazing food and the cover charge for the breakfast is R50. Any donations will be placed in a kitty and managed by a finance committee (to be nominated) and directed towards a needy cause (you tell us),” he said.
