Join the Brackendowns Community Church awareness workshop
Brackendowns wants to fight the burden carried by parents for hurting children without realising by hosting a three days workshop from November 7 to 9.
Brackendowns Community Church invites residents to join them for an informative and impactful Child Trauma Awareness and Carer-Competency Workshop from November 7 to 9.
The workshop will be facilitated by Bev van Rensburg who holds a master of theology, specialising in children’s crises.
The seminar is scheduled to take place at 5 Kariba Street, Brackendowns from 09:00 to 15:00.
Topics to be covered include understanding the need and goals of trauma care, trauma versus stress, acute trauma, complex developmental trauma, trauma’s impact on development, domains impairment, understanding behaviour, essential skills of trauma-informed care, remapping thinking and responses, and caregiver’s self-care.
The cost is R150 per person, which includes training and catering. Bookings are essential. RSVP before October 21.
