Female EMPD officers praised

The City of Ekurhuleni MMC for Community Safety, Clr Letlhogonolo Moseki has praised female law enforcement officers for their contribution to making the City of Ekurhuleni a safe place.

Moseki was speaking during the launch of the Ekurhuleni EMPD’s Women’s Month programme at a women-led roadblock.

The operation yielded R40 000 from motorists who had outstanding traffic fines that have escalated to warrants of arrest.

The roadblock comprised more than 100 female officers from EMPD, the Gauteng Traffic Police and the SAPS. A total of 1 159 vehicles were stopped and 900 persons searched.

The women-led roadblocks are expected to continue throughout August.
