Waste Management continues to address the issue of a lack of vehicles.
As per the message from MMC Andre du Plessis, the issue remains with senior management of the department needing to finalise payment to service providers. Unfortunately, as pointed out by the MMC, this is taking longer than expected.
Regarding waste removal, the Alberton Depot only has three trucks available at the moment. They will only be covering Verwoerd Park, Raceview and New Redruth as these areas have been affected the longest with lack of service.
Residents are advised to keep taking bins out daily so that should trucks be available to service Brackenhurst and Brackendowns the refuse can be removed.
The depot manager has expressed his need for trucks so that he can deliver the service residents pay for.
