WATCH: Operation O Kae Moloa sees success in crime prevention

The operation throughout Gauteng saw 900 people arrested for crimes ranging from murder to GBV related crimes

Operation O Kae Moloa came to the South of Johannesburg on July 28.

The operation started overnight throughout Gauteng to trace wanted suspects for various crimes ranging from murder to GBV-related offences.

Around 900 people were arrested around Gauteng during this stage of the operation.

The roadblock with the help of Home Affairs officials also checked various documents.

After the parade on Thursday morning officers from various branches of law enforcement set up a roadblock on Kliprivier Drive to check for various things among them being illegal firearms, stolen vehicles or drugs.

The operation was overseen by the Commissioner for SAPS in Gauteng, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela.

Mawela gave the public advice about being vigilant when visiting places with lots of people to prevent them from becoming a victim of crime.

Apart from traffic tickets being issued for various problems with vehicles, a truck that has recently been reported as stolen was recovered by officers.

The truck was reported stolen in Windsorton in the Northern Cape and two suspects were also arrested on the scene by officers.
