Laerskool Randhart Rakkers cherishes netball beginners

Teachers from Laerskool Randhart Rakkers have, since the beginning of the year, planted a seed of the netball sport in the hearts of little ones.

Grade R learners from Laerskool Randhart Rakkers were recently honoured as netball beginners after a successful season.

The group of girls and budding netball players from the school were recognised and appreciated for their commitment.

The learners were guided by teachers Sarita Kleynhans and Christa Erasmus throughout their sporting journey.
On the day, they were also presented with prizes and motivated to do even better.

Teacher Erasmus said: “From a group of 60 girls at least 17 learners that showed their best ball skills were selected.

The first game was on April 23 and they played very well. Every time they play we are getting goose bumps. We had a mother at the school who pampered them with treats and prizes.”

Kleynhans reiterated that the learners’ skills have improved hugely and their footwork is almost perfect.

“We even took on the Grade Ones from our school. They also played well and parents were so amazed. We would like to thank parents who have since been fully supportive throughout the journey,” she said.
