Alberton schools win whopping prizes

According to Soeleen Coetzee of Pick n Pay Brackenhurst, the competition proved to be a success.

Three Alberton schools won prizes during Pick n Pay Brackenhurst till slip competition on February 5 at Bracken City.

Hoƫrskool Dinamika walked away with R30 000 in the first place, in second place was Kenton Primary School (winning R20 000), while Laerskool Orion walked away with R10 000 in third place.

This comes after 15 schools in Alberton took part in the till slip competition.

Other schools that took part were Creative Kidz School, Creative Academy, Alberton High School, Laerskool General Alberts Primary School, Laerskool Randhart, Glenbrack High School, Hoƫrskool Marais Viljoen, Grace Trinity, Glenview Primary School, Royal School, Bracken High School and Brackenhurst Primary School.

ā€œIn October 2021, we decided to have a competition with all the participating schools around us. We then contacted the schools for the competition. The most till slips entered was the winner,ā€ she said.

Johan Schutte, principal at Dinamika, told the RECORD they will put this money back into the school for whatever project needs to be done.

ā€œThis goes to show the support of our parents regarding the school. We would like to thank the Pick n Pay team. This was a big effort from all the parents, and we are grateful,ā€ he said.
