Working together to clean Alberton Cemetery

Property agents joined the councilor and volunteers to clean up Alberton Cemetery.

Property agents working in Alberton North banded together with the local councillor and volunteers from the community to clean up the Alberton Cemetery.

According to Dorene van Tonder from Rawson properties, one of the organisers of the cleanup alongside Ivan Naidoo, the local ward councillor, they want to make Alberton North an area to be proud of.

“We want to show everyone that we are as much part of this community as they are and want to see the area look beautiful like it should,” said Dorene.

A generous sponsor, Chris van der Linde from Lasher Tools, sponsored all of the equipment that the group needed to clean the cemetery. Frans van Tonder from Aktiva Gardens has also generously offered to conduct routine cutting at the cemetery to keep it maintained.

Dorene and Ivan agree that this is just the start of their work throughout the ward and will continue to tackle projects with the assistance of the community.
