Police raid leads to arrest of two suspects in Brackendowns

The suspects are expected to appear in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.

In a joint operation, officers from Brackendowns and Alberton SAPS raided a property on Delphinium Street in Brackendowns on January 10.

The raid is in response to information received by the police that there was possible stolen property stashed at the house. This stolen property is linked to a robbery that happened in the Alberton policing area.

Upon entering the premises, police searched the home for the stolen property. Police found an illegal firearm in a small silver case that was brought to the house by a white female.

Two safes were found on the premises. Within one, an unlicensed firearm and over 300 live rounds of ammunition were found.

During the searching of the house, police found other suspected stolen property, including various mags and tyres, generators and electrical boxes.

The female suspect was arrested and charged with possession of an illegal firearm.

The owner of the house, a white male, was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as suspected possession of stolen property.

The firearms, ammunition and recovered property were handed in at the police station as evidence. The suspects are expected to appear in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
