Free self-defence class at Rietvlei Zoo Farm

On Saturday, December 4, the NPC, Yellow For Survivors will be hosting a FREE Self-defence class, facilitated by Gary Lewis and Carien Davel from Never Tap Out.

This initiative forms part of Yellow For Survivor’s 16 Days of Activism campaign.

Yellow For Survivors was founded by Leilani Kuter. Leilani survived a brutal rape in 1992 when she was staying at a youth hostel in Pretoria.

In 2019, 27 years after her ordeal, Leilani walked 729km over 27 days to shine the spotlight on survival. She herself believes that had she had these basic self-defence skills, that she could have gotten out of the room quicker.

Yellow For Survivors’ goal is to equip women, children and men with basic self-defence skills to assist them to hopefully get out of a potentially dangerous situation.

This self-defence class will take place on Saturday, 4 December at Rietvlei Farm, from 09:00 – 11:00.

Entrance fees will be covered by the NPC for participants.

There are only 20 places available.

More information on Yellow For Survivors or WhatsApp 082 686 5703 to confirm your seat.

Covid-19 protocols will be observed.
