On their way to qualifying as caregivers

“There can be no greater honour than being able to help others at their most vulnerable.”

These were the words of Stepping Stone Hospice’s CEO Tersia Burger as she addressed its Centre of Palliative Learning’s students on November 25.

The students completed their first six months of the Home-Based Care Assistant ((NQF2) course.

Over the past six months, they underwent theory and practical training in a simulated environment at the training centre and will now go on to practical training in a workplace for another six months.

“I’m very proud of this group of students and I want to thank Sister Beth Ndhlovu who guided and acted as the training facilitator for these students. She passed her knowledge and expertise on to the next generation of caregivers and I, therefore, have all the confidence that they will exceed all expectations on the next part of their journey to becoming fully qualified as caregivers,” said Tersia as she congratulated the group.
