‘Remove your posters or be fined’- City

From November 22, the City of Ekurhuleni will remove all the remaining elections posters.

Political parties have a few days left to remove their elections posters or risk being fined.

From November 22, the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) will remove all the remaining election posters. The political parties whose posters would be removed will be charged R55.50 per poster.

According to CoE spokesperson Nhlanhla Cebekhulu, by-laws indicate that posters be removed 14 days after the date of the elections, the last day being November 15.

“The duration for which elections posters may be displayed is prescribed in Section 43(9) of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality Billboard and Display of Advertisements By-Law (2017),” he said.
