Squid Game’s popularity extends to Halloween costume searches in SA

Google search trends reveal what South Africans are searching for in the lead-up to Halloween on Sunday.

Some South Africans are getting into the spooky spirit of things and are gearing up for some fun in the lead-up to Halloween on Sunday (October 31).

The hit Korean dystopian series Squid Game is taking the lead for outfit inspiration as Google Search trends over the past week show that South Africans are looking high and low for Halloween costumes.

The trends data has revealed searches for the term ‘Halloween’ have been steadily rising over the last 30 days with the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Northern Cape and Free State generating the most queries.
