Mayberry Park DJ commits to offering free DJing lessons

With the high unemployment rate, a Mayberry Park DJ has committed to offering free DJing lessons as a means of curbing joblessness.

With the spate of youth unemployment across the country, Nkululeko Nkabinde has committed to start doing his bit locally to curb the unemployment surge.

Known as Nkuly Knuckles, he has created a platform for unemployed youth to freely receive DJing lessons for them to learn the skill and art of DJing.

The home-based record label, Knucklesprosound, has gone out of its way to adding new services.

According to Nkabinde, this will assist the youth in making a living and those who are already in the music industry to sharpen their skills.

“After much consideration we decided to formalise and afford the public a comprehensive DJ lesson package. There has been a demand and several requests received from the public and youth within the community who are interested in learning the skill of DJing,” he said.

He said lessons are set to start in October and more information on how to enrol is available on www.knucklesprosound.com

“Once enrolled, you will learn how to mix your favourite music styles on entry level and industry standard DJ equipment. Whether you’re starting from scratch and looking to learn the basics or a working professional wanting to expand your skill set, our free course accommodates all levels of ability and styles of music,” said Nkabinde.

The course is said to teach essential techniques of DJing for any genre in 10 weeks.

“We will also offer group courses in the afternoon on Fridays and Saturdays from 16:00 to 18:00. Students choose their lesson day and attend one lesson weekly for 10 weeks. Times may vary due to Covid-19-adjusted level curfew times,” he said.
