Naked body found in Brackendowns hours after skeletal remains in Brackenhurst

Cornelius said a murder case had been opened for investigation.

On Saturday morning June 5, the RECORD reported on skeletal remains that were found in an open veld on Blesbok Street in Brackenhurst at about 7.30.

Later that day, at about 14:00, a naked body of an unknown black male was found in an open veld on Kliprivier Road in Brackendowns.

According to WO Gerhard Cornelius, communications liaison for Brackendowns SAPS, Brackendowns CSC received a call regarding a body in an open veld.

“Upon arrival, the body was found laying on stomach with a red cloth tied around neck.”

“The victim is in his early 30s and sustained blunt force injuries to his head,” he said. 

The body was taken to Germiston Mortuary.

Cornelius said a murder case had been opened for investigation.

Police appeal to the members of the community to come forward with information to assist with the investigation in this regard.
