Amcare celebrates Social Work Month

This is in light of World Social Work Day observed on March 16 and the month of March is International Social Work month.

Joeline du Preez of Amcare said social workers work tirelessly to provide psychosocial support to children, elders, adults and families during this difficult time in the Alberton area.

“Social work programmes range from services to people infected and affected by HIV and Aids, victims of domestic violence and basic home-based care to the elderly.

Focus is specifically placed on conducting community awareness campaigns, to create awareness of the plight of victims of domestic violence, elderly abuse and HIV and Aids,” she said.
