A total of 97 per cent of Waterstone College learners qualified for university studies (bachelor's degree pass).

After the challenges of 2020, Waterstone College, a school managed by Curro Holdings, is proud to congratulate its Class of 2020 on a 100 per cent matric pass rate, following the release of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) exam results.

A total of 97 per cent of Waterstone College learners qualified for university studies (bachelor’s degree pass).

“Our learners’ 100 per cent IEB pass rate is truly an extraordinary achievement, taking into account the immense pressure they were under as a result of Covid-19. Our 2020 matrics have certainly outdone themselves,” said a proud Andries Greyling, Curro Holdings CEO.

“Congratulations to the Class of 2020 who demonstrated a high level of excellence, considering the unprecedented year that they, and the staff, were expected to navigate.

“Waterstone College salutes your achievements of a total of 144 distinctions and a 100 per cent tertiary study pass rate. May God bless you in all your future endeavours as you embark on an exciting new journey to be global citizens ready to change the world,” commented Jacques Nel, executive head at Waterstone College.

A smooth leap to online learning

Nel believes it was Waterstone College’s quick transition to a remote learning strategy during the initial lockdown that helped secure 2020’s academic success.

“The last academic year posed great uncertainty, but none of the year’s challenges were greater than a full move towards the virtual classroom in your final school year.

“Our teachers and staff also need to be commended for the professional dedication shown towards our remote learning strategy. Without everyone’s commitment and our parents’ unwavering support, we simply would not have been able to show this level of academic success,” Nel concluded.
