Cresco to open new special needs section

The special needs section is set to be completed in March.

As part of their ongoing renovations, Cresco Preschool and Aftercare is introducing a special needs section to the school.

The work on the special needs section started in the first week of January and is on schedule to finish the work in March.

“We saw a need for a pre-school that caters towards children with special needs in Alberton,” said Zantelle Odendaal, the principal.

“We are blessed with teachers who are fully qualified to teach children with special needs.”

The school has the facilities to accept 40 learners and enrolment has already opened. They have two fully qualified teachers as well as an assistant for each teacher.

They are also renovating the existing playground and constructing a new play area as part of their special needs section. The rest of the school will be renovated at a later stage to help minimise disruption to the learners’ school year.

“Change is scary but it will be very good and very beautiful,” said Zantelle. “At the end of the day, we are doing it for the children.”
