WATCH: Cable explosion causes power cuts in parts of Alberton
A multiple power cable explosion on the corner of Andries Pretorius Street and Charl Cilliers Avenue is the cause of power cuts in parts of Alberton.
According to councillor Tiaan Kotzé, a power outage in Alberton is likely linked to the storm and the exposed power cable which is sparking /exploding on Andries Pretorius Street in Alberton North. This likely tripped the entire substation, he said.
Unfortunately, the estimated restoration time is not established as yet, the RECORD will update residents as and when new information becomes available.
