Danger from burst fuel pipeline in Randhart contained by emergency services

Emergency services responded to a burst fuel pipeline off Swartkoppies Road after 4pm on January 12. 

Emergency services responded to a burst fuel pipeline off Swartkoppies Road after 4pm on January 12.

According to the spokesperson for EMM, Eric Maloka, there was luckily no fire caused by the burst and after reducing the pressure within the pipes the danger has been contained.

He said that technicians are currently working to replace the valves on the pipeline. Traffic in the area is minimally disrupted apart from a section of Jacqueline Avenue that had to be closed. All relevant emergency services are on scene.
