Boyfriend shot following argument outside Meyersdal club

On Friday night, November 6, at about 23:50 an incident occurred outside of a bar in Meyersdal.

According to Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson WO Gerhard Cornelius, an unknown male had a fall out with a lady inside the club, ending up slapping her in the face.

He then went outside and the lady’s boyfriend followed to confront the man.

“During the argument, the man fired a shot into the air, the boyfriend tried to pull the lady out of the way and again an altercation occurred and as the boyfriend bend down the man shot him in the back of the head.”

“The man then fled in a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a maroon Mercedes, no number plate given. Er24  Emergency Medical Care service responded to the scene and the boyfriend was rushed to the Union hospital,” said Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson WO Gerhard Cornelius.

A case of attempted murder was opened pending investigation.
