Young stars lend a helping hand to the homeless

“It was such a blessing to be able to help others and show them people still care."

Just a few weeks after introducing Hope for Hunger, a community outreach initiative, these Good Samaritans have taken to the streets to assist the homeless.

Siblings Naledi (9) and Neo Sambo (13) teamed up to raise funds to buy meals for the homeless through their community outreach initiative.

What started off as a dream for young Naledi raising concerns about people on the streets became an accomplishment on the night of October 20.

Together, they delivered 31 delicious meals to the homeless based outside of Timbercity Alberton, with income generated from their Hope for Hunger keyrings. This is after they committed to selling branded star-shaped keyrings in order to assist the underprivileged. All proceeds go towards purchasing non-perishable products.

Naledi Sambo said: “We wanted to share with them something they will keep and remember forever. Most of them were excited and amazed to be helped by people our age. We also wanted to let them know they are special, and that there are still caring people in this world.”

The pair extended its gratitude to Dux Clox for making these wooden stars and the support they received from all who showed up on the night.

“It was such a blessing to be able to help others and show them people still care. It was great to see people were so grateful and blessed to know how God provides. We continue to rely on your kind hearts and support so that we can give back to even more people,” Neo said.
